• 1591: Warrant for the Robes, June 10, ER 33

    Modern English (post-1500)
    Published in 1590

    1500 AD - 1599 AD

A new hand appears in this entry, the first time it appears. Henceforth known as "Hand B".

In addition, this warrant is much more detailed than the warrants of the previous years. Instead of "For altering 27 gowns made of....", this warrant breaks each alteration out and describes it separately. Also, the destination of the various wares bought from Silkman Roger Montague are specified--whether they are to be used by the wardrobe tailors or by the ladies of the privy chamber.
